Tuning the Daily Box

I got one side of the rca's connected and it sounds fine, but when I connect both, it sounds wierd. Notes coming out of nowhere.

disconect the wire from the HU to make sure the noise is not coming from there,

if the noise stops when you disconect that RCA from the HU, then the problem is in the RCA output of the HU,

if the sound continues, the while the RCA cables are still disconected at the HU. disconect them RCA cables from the amp, if noise goes away then the problem is in the RCA wire it self.

if the noise persist. then the amp has the noise internaly.

since you already whent thrug some of those steps and ruled out the HU and only one side is creating the noise.

then for testing purposes.

move the good RCA on the amp side, to the side where the noise comes from, if the noise starts again then, you have a problem on the RCA input of the amp.

if there is no noise. then move the good RCA line on the head unit to the one that may be making noise. if it starts making noise then the problem is on that one HU RCA output. if there is no noise then the problem was the RCA cable.

check the manual on the amp some stereo amps require that you disconect one side of the rcas. when runing the amp in mono. i dont know what the case may be.

Awsome bro. Thanks. I will do that later today. Im going to the titans game right now.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Maybe we can win again.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Ok, check this. I hooked up the rca's a few different ways and by process of elemination, I actually came to the conclusion it is the left rca in the back of the head unit. When I tune it all the way to the right, it plays fine, but when i tune it all the way to the left, it goes blank (while I have the working rca plugged in this is). I have a old school alpine cd player that works I think. I am gonna wire it up and see what the deal is with it. Thanks for the help.

One question though.

When only one side of the rca's is hooked up, is the cdplayer only putting out 1/2 the voltage to each side? I have the amp bridged and it recieves the signal fine(mono), just don't know if it is only getting 1/2 the signal it is supposed to or not.
