Tuning the Daily Box

Ok so I built a box for my 2 orion xtrpro 15s. It came out to be about 7.2 and I was just gonna do 1 or 2 4" pvc pipes in the baffle.

The baffle is slanted so would the ports need to be slanted to run parallel with the top and bottom of the box? And how long should they be. I was hoping to tune to about 28-35 or whatever you think would be a good.

Thanks for the help,

Kody

Yeah, I might have to compromise and use some 6"s if I have the room on the baffle. I kinda wanted to keep everything facing front because the box is taking up most of the trunk and subs facing where back of seat used to be/still is. I just cut out the X behind there. This is no show setup by far, but I will do what I can with what I got.

I will remeasure tonight and see if I have the room for 6"s or not.

Keep the ideas coming.

Ok, I drew the lines on the box where I will cut out the holes. I have just enough room on the box for 2 4" holes and a few 2" holes. Would this be a bad idea? Or would it be ok to just do a bunch of 2" holes? Never really seen a bunch of small holes. And how long would the 2"pvc need to be if I did that idea.

Or I have just enough room to make a 2"X14" port. Remember, there is a slanted front baffle to mess with.

thats 28 inches or port area.

not enough for one 15, let alone 2.

what are the dims that you are working with Kody, i think you might need a little more help on this one.

I will hit you up later tonight and get with you on this one. Been a few days since i had a chance to really sit down at a comuter for a while. O well, more to life than stupid forums right? Anyway, I will get ahold of you when I have the chance.

For the time being, If i remember correctly the dimensions are 15.5hX35wX30d on bottom and 26d on top. I made the box just so it would fit in my trunk and not halfass how I wanted it to fit. Fits perfectly, a inch longer and I woulda had to take my seats out. Perfect angle to go behind rear seats. Only thing holding me back now is the whole port/speaker holes and some 4ga. The run I got came out of my dakota and is like 2ft short.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif If I can, I will post some pics of this box I threw together. Time has been hard to keep on my side lately. Been helping my buddy body drop this mazda in his garage while the kid he is doing it for is out for fall break from school. Layin 20s on pinch FTW. Just wish he still had the 20s lol.

Ok, so here are the pics of my halfass box. I know it isn't the nicest thing in the world, but I was too lazy to get my table saw out from under all the stuff in my garage and threw this thing together, but I cut out the holes for the 15s tonight and am wondering if I should just leave it sealed.

The subs going in it. Couldn't get them to stay in the box while I took a picture. Kept falling out.

I know it is nowhere close to done. I haven't siliconed the inside yet. The stuff dried weird and left a few open places. There is a ton of sawdust in it. And I gotta carpet or paint it or something. I dunno. Not the real setup, just a little nothing turned into a little something.

All going in the daily driver: POntiac Sunbird.

leave it sealed, or sent the ports out of the right hand side.
I was thinking about leaving it sealed, but i dunno. It is 7.2^3. Kinda big for those subs i believe. I was hoping to do everything in the front baffle, but I guess I might just end up porting the sides. What size pipe do you think would work good for them? and how long?

After really thinking about what I wanted out of this setup, I have decided to port out the sides.

Now what? What size ports would you suggest? Where would be the best place to put them? Tuning to 33hz, how long do they need to be?
