i have 4 alpine sps170a coaxials...alrite i guess...not much of a bassy speaker..just clear..

You will be more than happy with the xeonon. The only downfall about his sub is it requires abit larger box, then the average 12inch sq sub would. 2cubic foot for sealed, and about 3 for ported, but u can cut the box size down a little, and it would still sound good. Ide say you would be good in a sealed 2 cubic foot box since your more into sq.

well im looking at the sub right now...it looks impresive to me...should i just go for a 10"? i still want the sub to hit hard though but clean?

If you like the way a 10 sounds better, then go for it. I like 12s better because i listen to rap, and im not a fan of the punchiness that 10s give you, but if you like it then go for it. It will get plenty loud, and yet retain sq.

ill probably get a 12...and go sealed...never had a 12 b4...and ask someone to make a box based on the specs it says on the site...

but is this sub really worth it? or can i get better?

like a jlw3?

I like jl, and even sell them at a shop I work at. But the 12 w3 wont compare with the xenon. But the 12w6v2 would be a closer comparison. Both have great sq, but the xenon is cheaper, and would match the xenon amp alot better. Ive listened to both the w6v2s, and the xenons, and they are pretty much evenly matched. The xenon wins in the low end, but the w6v2 wins in the upper region.

I can pretty much gaurantee you that if you get a xenon, you wont even think twice about buying an w6v2, unless you just want a better looking sub. Thats how evenly matched they are.

im probably going to get the xenon..its cheaper than a w3....w6 is too much for me now...

probably gonna get them off etronics..so itll be around 820 canadian shipped and taxes..

i may go with a 10" though not sure..

Talk about versatility! This sub does it all. Its a very clean tight sounding woofer! It isn't quite as tight and solid as the JL 10W7-3 that I had in the vehicle previously but you also have to realize that you can buy two of these woofers for the price of a W7!!! On the models I ran of this speaker and from experience listening to it this sub plays lower with better accuracy in the bottom end than my W7 did. I have a track on the IASCA test CD that has some low end notes centered at about 18Hz and I turned up that segment on my EQ and this beast took them in stride! Then I thew on a few SPL/Bass tracks and turned up the gains a bit to play. Keep in mind I was running this speaker on a 450 watt Vacuum tube amp and I have my speaker wired up in series to an ohm load of 8 ohms and this thing SLAMMED! It actually got the roof of my car to ripple much like the W7 did. Also keep in mind that when I was listening to the W7 it was in a custom tuned high output box made specifically by JL and this woofer is in a sealed enclosure with 50 less watts of power running to it!

The LED in it is really bright and I like that it has a separate terminal to power the LED. I was worried that it was going to try to power the LED off the musical signal and that would have not been ideal to say the least! I really like the way the LED looks. Its a quite unique mounting of the LED too! Its not firing right at your eyes, instead its at an angle and casts three beams of light onto the woofer.

This sub is well worth the funds you'll shell out for it!

OT: Polecat...... I think its badass that even though you work for Kicker you have no problem reccomending ither brands then Kicker and provide non-biased info and reccomendations.

Yea Ascendant had some subs with last I checked, but I think all of the 12's r gone, both the Atlas and Avalanche. I order 2 15" Avalanches just because of the killer price, don't really know what I'm gonna do with them when I get 'em though.
