tips for building a box

looks like this

i don't use any screws, except to hold the subs in. They are not necessary. Wood glue, frame clamps, clean and straight cuts are essential. Pipe clamps help too. Don't be in a hurry and all will turn out fine. x123445624 on measuring 2 or 3 times before cutting.

yea screws arent NECESSARY, but it does make the process go faster. By using screws you dont have to wait for the glue to dry. I made a box today and i had the subs bumping before the glue was even dry all the way. So in that case, screws are good.

i wouldnt build a box without screws unless its either not going to be extremely loud or the subs are light! why cause they will fall apart i tought wood glue is all that was needed till last night

first time i build a box with a screw every 8" guess waht it freaking falls apart. and i used wood glue also and bondo on the seems. it was not a pretty picture

:up2somet:had to fix it all last ngiht and today in the morning.

also depending on the wood dont use a screw that is to short i used 1 1/4 and im guessing that had a little to do with it falling apart so i went to 1 5/8 couldnt find 2 inchers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but i do have 3-50lb subs on that baffle lol so next time im gonna brace it and use 2 inch screws lol
