time for a new car

I like the newer hondas, the 1999+ body style i believe, but my first car was a 95 honda accord and it was horrible. Was not vtech, and the vtechs might be nicer, but i really don't like the smaller engines. I'm a picky bastard to be honest though, and i wouldnt trade my 4.3 liter V8 which can get 20mpg in the city and 28 on the highway for any other car, even if it has a good amount of body damage.
What car?

My friend was actually talking about saturns. he said turboed they can do some fast times but you gotta build the engine up.
x2

Saturn's internals aren't really that great. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

x is prolly only worth 3000 now
wtf did you do to it? and how are you getting 19/22mpg?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I get like 14.5mpg in mine (3.3 n/a)

its an 01 with a minor body flaw inside is dirty and a its a smoker i ****ed up the step rails and that mpg was a rough guess its prolly shitter then i think 200/250 miles to a tank for the most part. The ion redline comes stock supercharged id like to have some go stock charged is enough for me

i found one in my area for 11995 and has 37xxx miles on it really clean looking too if i can get moneies from the bank ill get it if not ill have to talk my rents into fronting till i can get money from the bank i have a cd worth 14000 but they dont want me to touch that till i get done school

Honda has to be one of my favorites for a gas mileage car and power. The Japanese were so smart making vtec. You're engine can run low rpms and just be mellow but once vtec kicks in you better be holding on tight
Whats wrong with you? VTEC doesn't "kick in," its always active. It stands for Variable valve Timing and lift Electronic Control. It just adjusts the timing for low RPM situations and high RPM situations.

BTW, the ONLY reason Japan bothers making these four cylinders is because there is a tax on the displacement of an engine.

Tons of cars are CVTC = continuous VTEC if you will. I can't stand the vtec crowd lol. The 4 cylinder Vtecs have no torque so they do better at high rpms, vtec isn't some god-like invention. And to the poster on the first page I hope you were joking about holding on when the vtec kicks in =/

To the OP I'd go for a Toyota or Honda. My 02 Avalon V6 gets 30MPG highway and my family always owned toyotas they last for loooong time if you keep em up. You could also look at a Subaru Impreza perhaps?

I'm in pretty much the same boat and here are a few I've been looking at:

Pontiac G6 GT: ~30 mpg on the highway, nice looks, decent performance, hundreds of reviews on Edmunds and only two that rated less than 8/10 overall

Mazda 6s: Beautiful car, nice performance ~25-30 on the highway, but you have to get the v6 because they've had reliability problems with the 4-bangers

2002+ Nissan Maximas with the 3.5L V6: Pretty much the same story as the Mazda6, only doesn't look as nice, VQ35 engine is a beast but again, problems with the 4-bangers

Maxima's don't come in 4 cylinders.

And the VQ35 is a full out champ.

i think im gunna go test drive the redline see if i like it i like the looks i like the price color is perfect and it performs nicely from what ive read

Meh, was probably getting mixed up with the Altimas, because I was looking at them at the same time.

Just remember to look at Maximas after 2002 only, because that was the year they switched to the VQ35
