Thinking about re-foaming my old school JL w6v1... is it worth it?

I took the W6 to a local shop to be repaired. I'm getting charged $20. The guy really seems to know what he's doing.... I guess we'll see how it turns out. I'll post pics next week.
sounds like a good deal to me, i got a 12w6v2 reformed from a guy off craigslist for like $40.

uhh, fyi,.. jl w6v1's are dual 6ohm,.. 3ohm nominal is what the amp sees with both coils paralleled
wont work well on a 600w @ 1ohm stable amp
With the sub being able to haldle up to 300 rms, how would you recomend that I get the amp wired?

The MB Quart ONX1.1000D

◦4 ohms: 475 watts x 1 chan.

◦2 ohms: 750 watts x 1 chan.

◦1 ohm: 1000 watts x 1 chan.

Thanks

actually, 300 rms is a rather conservative figure, to be honest. they can handle upwards of 4-600rms depending on the alignment,.. the onyx is perfect for the w6 wired in parallel, imo, just make sure you set the gain to be free of clipping.
