Thinking About Putting A System In My Car. Ideas?

I am thinking an AQ1200 and maybe two 10's or two 12's . (if they can fit) They will have to fit in a BMW 528i trunk. Not quite sure the dimensions but i know that when i put my two 10's box out of my truck in the trunk it was a tight fit..(its in a prefab too). So maybe I am going to need a custom box?

As far as speakers go, I am thinking some Alpine SPS-500 5 1/4" front and rear.

But for speaker amp, I was thinking the AQ4x90..but probably a waste of power.

Capacitors, how big of one do i need? 1.5 farad? (i read that every .5 farad to every 500 watts?)

Anyone got any suggestions?

My truck has:

Alpine SPS-406's in the rear pillars

Alpine SPS-600 's in the front doors

Obcon (lol i know but it does the job) Speaker amp

AQ1200 and 2 powerbass 2XL 10's in a prefab.

and a .5 farad capacitor ( also got this from a buddy for cheap. )

It hits pretty hard. Speaker amp cuts out at a certain point because it was like 45 bucks lol

edit: Sorry if this is the wrong section.. I haven't been to this website in probably a year or two I forgot lol

really? hmm, never heard that before. But I guess I dont have many car stereo conversations with people either lol.

Well I plan on leaving my stereo in my truck. Going to buy a whole new one. What do you suggest I use? (sub size, ect.)

Personally, I prefer 15s.
How much room do you have to work with for the subs?
Not very much. I am thinking the biggest I can go is one 12 or two 10's.

I will get exact specs of my trunk soon.

Also going to put a Kenwood KDC-493 Deck in it.

Well, depending on your dimensions, I'm sure you could get at least 2 12's in there. You could probably do something sealed in a box, or you could get someone to fiberglass you something.

As far as suggestions, I suggest browsing the discussion forums about speakers, amps, subs, etc. There are plenty of stickies with good information, and you can ask specific questions in each. We all have different opinions, likes, and dislikes in car audio, along with different budgets. With some numbers, I'm sure plenty of members can pump out some suggestions.

Alright, thanks. I will get some dimensions for my trunk soon.
