The Saturn: Can't stop there. (Dual 18's upgrade)

Yea, the smell will go away within a couple days or so if you drive with the windows down a good amount.

And a milkshake is a mix of resin and body filler so you can paint it on and sand easily

eh, instead of glassin, and adding those side panels that go to the windows, I would have cut another baffle to lay on top that molded to the windows and sat flush with the rear deck, so there is no gap there.

Was thinking about it but didnt want to make the enclosure much higher.

(and no, the subs werent up at all with him in the car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif)

Lol. And I just moved part of my shop to the new location today so I can't really do much work on anything right now...just wait a day or so to get more moved and situated. Then I can do more work and get this thing looking finished.

So you are running 5.5 cubes per sub? How do the omegas compare to the BTL? I want to put an 18'' in my single cab truck, and 5.5 cubes would be do-able.

Quoted from sig //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif:

"Enclosure: 12.75 cubes net @ 31Hz, 200 sq inches of port"

So...like 6.375 cubes net per sub.

And honestly the enclosure situations with both setups were polar opposites...in this setup, they have more ample airspace, port area, and tuned lower...the single 18" BTL was in a very small enclosure with little port area tuned a bit higher and also in the trunk...it still sounded good though...but I dont think the comparison from my experience is very fair given the huge differences, but the Omega's sound fantastic and get loud (and low as fack) in this setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif im happy with them.

ah okay I was reading the original post and it said 5.5. How much did they run ya?
Yea, at first I was thinking I had less room and I would have to lessen the airspace...but it turns out it couldve been even more, but I didnt want it too big.

But it was like 930 shipped for the pair, I'd do it again if I had to. They can take a good beating all day long and dont heat up untill I really go full-bore on them. cascade-designs.com

It's been a while but the setup is pretty much as-is for the time being...almost all of my money will be going towards equipment for my new shop for now.

i like this build. Good stuff.

When are you going to clean up all the foam and etc?

Also, I've been pretty intereted in those omega's.

Might be getting one 18" omega in my build. Pretty undecided. Some say yes, some say no

How good does it keep up on smooth electorinc and hardcore trance?

How good do you like them?

whats this thing with your new shop?
I used to rent out a seperate 2-car garage from a guy to use as a shop / woodshop to make enclosures and work on my car.

Now I moved to basically a single-car garage storage place that's going to allow me to upgrade the electrical and turn it into a workshop. It's going to be smaller but more organized because of it, so it'll be nice.

After the maxxsonics show in chicago im going to have the rear window taken out so I can fiberglass and smooth out the whole rear deck and black flekstone it all...so it'll be a little while but in the end it'll look much much better and will actually all be one smooth surface.

As for the Omega's I couldnt be happier with them. They sound absolutely awesome in this enclosure (as long as you keep it down, then my car starts going nuts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I really need to add a ton of deadening upfront...that'll also come in the future) and also get loud n low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

And I can't really say ive listened to electronic and hardcore trance with them, sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif haha but they do very well on pretty much all music
