The Saturn: Can't stop there. (Dual 18's upgrade)

149.5 @ 41Hz yesterday, meh...Im going to hopefully have some spare time in the near future to actually get some work done on this...but I'll be moving shops the 10th, so that'll be a good day or two of work on that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Might get the mounting rings made for my components for the rear to be fiberglassed in today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif..pics if anything happens

It was a pretty poor turn-out to be honest //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...and it POURED at around 8...had to stop the comp for a while.

And the reason I lost that .5 db would be due to the duct-tape not smoothing out and sealing the rear deck area (the 150 @ 41Hz was at the last comp and had a 55 yrd roll of duct tape in the rear deck area/sides of the enclosure, lol)...hope to finally get that done and be consistantly 150+ from then on

Yes duct tape is the win...

I didn't make it because my brand new amp has to be repaired //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif that *****...but it wasnt much of a comp, and it rained like a mofo for a little while

Alright, got a little done today...the sides are sealed from the trunk but there are still large voids in the pits on the sides though..they'll get sealed off as well.

The passenger side of the port...straight into the cabin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Got a piece cut and 'instant bond'ed it into place..

Foamed around it to seal 'er up..

Same thing on the driver's side

The foam became a bit unruley (sp?) so I had to push/wipe it into position with a grocery bag over my hand, worked pretty well.

More as it happens

And I was a bit confused looking at the pics, but the double-layered back of the port (the panel that the amp is mounted on) makes it look like the side panels of the port dont mate worth crap...but i was just looking at the first layer of that back wall thinking it was the end of the side panel..optical illusion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Yea. After a bit of sealing and smoothing off the rear deck Im pretty sure it'll see a very consitant 150+

As for all day long..I think the subs would run into problems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif lol

Alright, got a little more done today.

5.25" mounting ring done but broke my only 1/8 drill bit starting the next one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif, so tomorrow they'll be getting done..

I have the other pair of 6.5's in the car right now and they sound fantastic and keep up with the subs just off of the headunit...Im hoping to get the rear 2 pairs installed in the near future and playing and eventually get a buddy to make me some door pods to get 2 pairs up front as well (the front and back will both get a pair of both sizes)

Alright, got a little more done today.
