Depends... New Type R or older? For your application, I would say an older Type R or the new Type S. I do recommend the MTX, but not the 8000's. Go with the newer line like the 5500's. Kicker Comp VR will get loud

Well, about 10hrs of play...

The culprit... I dunno, People are sayin this thing is putting out 650W RMS... Dont seem like it... had the gains adjusted, etc... No bass + on the deck, the bass EQ @ 0.... etc...

But I will be going even lower on the gains.... not sure if this is the sole reason for this... as it was playing fine for hours on end without me adjusting anything... then after 5-6hrs, went back out on the road, and BOOOOOOM. The box is EXACLY 2.3cuft Tuned to 30hz...

I played 50hz test tones about 10 times earlier in the day, with NO problems.

Seriously though, it was the best sounding sub until now. Loud as !@#!@# and clean as !@#!@.

I will get another. Maybe I was a little TOO heavy on it. But didnt expect this.

that sub was not over powered, it bottomed out. the former slammed into the back plate(more than once).

the usual culprit is playing notes(music) below tuning with high power.
