The Official Type R Thread

But I personaly would rather run the T1's. And you wont have to worry about a 2.67ohm load...

And they will have more power...
UHHHH F-UCK I FOR GOT THE OHM CRAP!S0 THE T1S WOULD BE LOUDER I THOUGHT THE 3 10S WOULD BE ------O WELL CAN'T I DROP MY OHMS TO 0.5 WITH 3 SUBS?? I WAS THINKING OF GETING THE TYP R 2OHM DVC SUDS

I bought an alpine deck 9855 with 2005 12" type r's @4 ohms each. I will be pushing these subwoofers with alpine mrd m1005. I also bought ALPINE SPR-17LS TYPE R 6.5" COMPONENT SPEAKERS, that I'm planning on pushing with an alpine MRP-T220 2-Channel Amplifier, all this will be put in my 350z. does this setup seem fine? also how would I connect the subwoofers if they are 4 ohms each, and the mrd m1005 amp push's 500w x 1rms @ 4ohms @ 12v/ 700w x 1rms @4ohms @ 14v/ and 1000w x 1rms @ ohms @ 14v. So could anyone help me wire these to sound the best? thanks

To feed the sub's the proper power (500 RMS) You'll need to wire them to a 1 ohm load.. However the Type R's can handle way more then the specified RMS. (500) Also, I'm not sure if that amp is 1 ohm stable.. so it looks like you may need a new amp. Does the setup seem fine? Sure it sounds great man, but what matters is how it sounds to YOU..

Here's a lil diagram showing you the possible ways you can wire your subs up to that amp.. If I were you i'd try to run it at 1 ohm for the time being.. But if it starts shutting down/getting to hot.. then yea. GL

Honestly, If Id just get 2 12' Type R's and be done with it. T1's are nice and all, but I think the Type R's are still louder.. and alot more cost efficent too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyone have an optimized ported box spec (preferably slot port) for EITHER 2 TYPE 12's, or 2 - 15's... I have to order the subs, just havent decided on the 12's or 15's yet...

I want a EXCELLENT box design that gives the best of SPL w/ SQ in mind... I would pay for the plans also, as long as it was guarantee'd to be awesome //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well if I knew someone that had some I would... Cant tell at the store, cause you just dont know what they are running them on or anything... I mean, ive heard them in the store, but ... it always sounds different in your car.

I have to go with the 12's tho... the 15's only come in dual 4 ohm, and i need a 2ohm load ....

So any box specs, specifically for Type R 12's (The new 05 ones, with the HAMR surround)

I seriously will pay!

well guys thanks for your input i guess i will just stick with the t1s for now but if you were me what type of subs would you use with the setup i have for a 240 sx coup?...p.s why did i have kids!!!!!!!f-ck!!!!!

Anyone know if 2 TYPE R 15's (750W RMS EACH) will still sound good in a ported box, receiving 1000WRMS?
Thanks.
do you mean 1000W for both of them or a piece? if you do 1000W per Sub, man .....you'll leave your girlfriend.......if ya got one....if you do 1000W for both, well.....it will still sound good, but bettter with 1000 on each one.... in a ported box tuned to say 28Hz, man that box will play Lo, and sound good.
