Anyone have an optimized ported box spec (preferably slot port) for EITHER 2 TYPE 12's, or 2 - 15's... I have to order the subs, just havent decided on the 12's or 15's yet...

ok heres what going on i just recently bought a 1242 type r and there 600w amp alpines like 605m or something i got 4 gauge wire running to it and i know the sub is olny 500 w rms but every one says it can take a lot more so i got a 600w amp anyways i built a ported box 1.8 cu but 1.3 minus port so anyways when at high volume with gain on 1 goes from .1 to .3 .5 .7 1 1.5 2 4 8 are gain settings and on 1 with like +8 bass boost on goes by 2s up to 16 at high voulme on certain bass hits it sounds like the sub is knocking or hitting something there is plenty of clerance i have no idea and help or ideas what it might be am i over powering it?

also if i turn the bass boost down to like 4 and gain to 1.5 it dosent knock or what ever its doing my friend didnt hear it but he said it might be the sub ******* in and out air from the port i only hear it when i am facing the sub i have a hatch so when i open it to look at the sub adjust amp etc i hear it but in front seat no idea its doing that

the amp is clipping that is why that happens to me at high volumes also with gains on 1.5 w/o bass boost on a mrd-m1005 did you use the gain setting tut.?

lol i figured that much that why i turn all the stuff down so it stoped thanks for ur help the turtuial page isnt loading so i should turn all my stuff how i would listen to it at max volume then adjust gain and does bass boost also i hae no ida what the knob for hz 20 to 200 it turns is for lp filter or somethin

just match the input sensitibity (gain) on ur amp to the output voltage on the HU

turn it down a little if u like to use bass boost and stuff.

yes its for lp filter set it to about 80, yes that is how you set it, you shouldnt need bass boost.

ok thnks ill put it at 80 no bass boost and i mess with the gain thanks sub sonic filter should be at 15 right and one last question shuld the last switch be on 12 db or 24 db no idea what it was called
