The Official Type R Thread

Hmmmm well I guess our trade is off then huh? No good replies on this.

Oh and for the record guys, the sub has no problems, I just want to go with two 12's that I can seal up in my small trunk since I dont have enough room to go ported in my trunk with the SX15 and since I cant seal the 15 up and sound good. the SX isnt even broken in yet.

and yes... particularly at high volume the type R sounds way the hell better than the SX... SX = 147 and nearly explodes.... type R 147 and it sounds perfect.

I never said it was a "fart box" just an SPL box. I'm sure it is rather rigid with plenty of bracing and a double baffle.
So you can over power the R in a basic ported box. And it will still sound amazing on music. Basically retain some SQ. That's all I was wondering:)

This thing just sounds ridiculous on music. Takes both amps like a champ and sounds GOOOOOD!!!

And, just to give you an idea, with a rough estimate we compared mark's monte carlo with my truck. With an older box, i had a 2 dB advantage just by cabin gain. So take the 10" type-r i got in my truck now, toss it in his car, and do a 146+....with one 10".

Impressive to say the least.

I am by no means bashing RE, i still love em. I just happened to find something that worked better for my application.

 
Nah, stick with the R's, they are pretty badass IMO. I'm a fan of single sub setups though, but even if i was you i'd stick with the R's as i just installed my friends system that has 2 of them and am VERY impressed.

 
what's up fallas i have been think about this setup for some time what do you think will give me the best sql spl setup for a sealed box the 2 rf t1s hit nice but i think 3 10s would be better??yes no???any 1 got any info411 for me if not then f-ck it i guess
