jus like most subs if you tune any sub high like that youre gonna get a louder sub vs. tuned to say 32 Hz. and box size as well. i have had good experience with em, also spkrman has too. the R shines best in a ported box for SQ around 28-32 Hz and SPL more higher say 38-44Hz... with my experience anyway....hope this helps

THe R's are *not* fart woofs, DO NOT tune them high, waste of time.

In your ride go with one 12 ported.

the R's are garbage sealed woofers, they sound bad and don't get loud.

I'm running an orion 2500d at .5 to my pair of type R 12's.

If you build the box right and plan properly, they handle it just fine. I have to really try to get these subs to even start gettin stinky, talkin full tilt for more than a full song.

if you think that R sounds good sealed... you *must* get a ported box!!! Thats when they really shine.

i was proud. and yeah the r's dont like high notes...they loved the 41/42hz range for me.

dude, put em in like a 3.0-3.5 box per sub tuned say, 30-34 Hz, alot of juice, and im sure youll beat the breaks off your car.

I keep reading about how great the new type r's are (mainly interested in the 10), but when I look at the specs, it says it can only handle 500 continuously. Are these specs underrated or whats the deal?

they R by alot.

check out the test results.... we have thrown all kinds of power at these woofs in low tuned boxes and they love it.
