when i get my pair of R 12's we'll be testing them against a pair of DD 9512's in a low tuned box with plenty o powa.

Yes...exactly. I plan on running 2 4 ohm DVC subs, sorry if i wasnt clear about that.

And also, for the enclosure for these subs, basically i want that chest pounding bass (the kind that sort of takes your breath away for a second, you know what i mean) would i be better off using a sealed enclosure instead of a ported one? Or will the ported one get better chest pounding bass.

wait.. maybe i havent read your other posts on this subject but what do you mean the type r handles mor epower on music? you can throw over 1kwrms at a type r 12 for music? are they just really underrated? or am i confusing what you meant?
