Ya you can hook it up, but get the Dual 4 ohm version and wire it to an 8 ohm load. I dont know if the house amp can handle a 4 ohm load. The Type R can handle well beyond its power rating. Also, if you decide to do this, which seems you are pretty set on it, tune it down to around 24 hrtz

type-r's **** sealed, i was about to take mine back and get a w6, then i built a ported box and its incredible now.
