//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif i have to admit my type-r's do tickle my pickle, atleast while im driving they do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I dont understand that manual, when it says 1.3 ft^3, does that mean that is the optimal size of the enclosure? And does the 1.3 ft^3 include the volume displaced by the driver or what?

wait.. maybe i havent read your other posts on this subject but what do you mean the type r handles mor epower on music? you can throw over 1kwrms at a type r 12 for music? are they just really underrated? or am i confusing what you meant?
x2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif so you throw double the recommended power to a type r in a box double the recommend size box? Talk about underrated. If this is so would a type r in an alpine specd box w/ 500 watts be barely moving the sub?

Ya you can hook it up, but get the Dual 4 ohm version and wire it to an 8 ohm load. I dont know if the house amp can handle a 4 ohm load. The Type R can handle well beyond its power rating. Also, if you decide to do this, which seems you are pretty set on it, tune it down to around 24 hrtz

thanks for the reply...ya that amp can handle 2 ohms let alone 4 hahah its da bomb ...dual 4 hey i will remeber that.

How much can it handle above its rms rating...since the amp is like that too [under rated]

so is it possible that i can run it at 2 ohms and get 250 watts per channel [crowns own rating rms]

The wiring is the tricky part...i have all the parts...terminals and mdf...silcone glue etc i just need to know the config i will be using

How big is the coil on the new type r the alpine site doesnt say? im thinking 2 '' mabye 2 and a half

thanks agian

alpine specs are way the hell too small.

they handle considerably more than rated power, easily 1000w reactive for the 12 and 1500 reactive for the 15.... that would be more of an RMS rating, but it does depend on the box.

The SX doesn't come close //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

type-r's **** sealed, i was about to take mine back and get a w6, then i built a ported box and its incredible now.

PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH

my single CVR with 122 watts > ure 2 type R 12's

Wait till ya get a new box though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Well in that case, I would get a SWR-1222 and wire it down to 4 ohms. They can take on 1000 watts rms, just make sure its clean signal and not clipping.

As for how big the coil is, I cant remember

I just bought a 12" type R (1222d). Looking at the sub and looking at the spec sheet boggles my mind. The spec sheet says .071 ft^3. This sub is freaking huge. I really don't think the displacement could be that small. Can anybody confirm this?
