The Official Type R Thread

I flat out couldnt turn it up when I got home. It matched the score @ 1 ohm strapped and kept screwin up after a second of volume 22. Im not sure if it even registered it. 23 is the peak volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

alternator.... need one bad!
You still ****. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

On par with the tlab?!??! pssssshhhh

meter spiked.

i did a 148.5 first run... EXACTLY what i did on the TL. The 150 was with the amps wired to .5 strapped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

T's car has ALWAYS liked the dash... u know that.

playing the race card huh?...haha...dont be a *****
race card? what ? man these little so called quotes r killing me...what the F does that mean , u dudes gotta speak english ...this aint a foreign country

I guarantee you swapping for 2 12w7's would *not* gain me in that application.
Why? Because I'm only getting 1300 watts total... simply put. 11 volts and impedence rise... both bad bad things power wise.

Would w7's be louder @ 30hz with 1000+ per woofer... hell yea.

As far as "do subs matter".... yes, they matter alot. Its not 100% box. THe main thing is effeciancy... you can make an effeciant sub loud if you know what your doing, but ineffeciancy is hard to get around, particularly when the sub wont handle much power. Generally you will get no more than a 3db swing assuming the sub can handle the power. 3db isn't night and day, but its definitely noticeable.. and a BIG BIG deal on the meter.

The type R line is superb... PERIOD. No money involved, no rules. They get loud and sound good, flat out. They handle whatever power you can throw at them for short periods... particularly the 15. The 15 is an *extremely* strong sub and if tobias (sblazer) would man up and let me drop in the R against the SX in his blaze, maybe he'd realize how good it really is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Fun comparison anyway.
of course a score isn't going to depend solely on the enclosure, nor will it depend solely on the sub. different subs are gonna perform differently in the same enclosure/power obviously. my point is just that the guy pointing out that 2 type-s' in an spl setup vs. your run of the mill w7 installs isnt really a good one. every sub has its application, it all depends what you you're going for.

yea, my one type S in the MC tuned nice and low is more comparable to your "typical" w7 install.... hehehehe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

u and your crazy box building skills.

im sure spkrman knows what hes talkin bout since he does have the vids , and u...have ...jus talk..
i'm sure he'll agree that the enclosure is an integral part of the scores that he gets. compare the scores that he gets with his type-r with the scores that most people with their type-r's around here get.

and since i'm just talk, what are you?

Looks like I called this one correctly and OP hasn't been back to post any glowing reviews either.
