Whats the highest frequency you can give a sub. I have a 10" kicker cvx powered by an alpine m450 in a ported box. Thing has great range. I had the lpf at 120 but just moved it up to 140. Can i max it out to 200hz and let the sub handle all that or will it sound like crap? reason im asking is my speakers sound terrible with any low notes and the sub is the best part of my system so seeing if i could hear it a little more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Most people will recommend the the lpf be set at 80hz. This is because you want to want to keep the sub playing the low notes. There should be a hpf (high pass filter) on the head unit that can be adjusted to keep your speakers from playing low notes

200 hz will not hurt your speaker....may sound like crap and rob power from the amp that could be focused elsewhere, but the only thing it might hurt is your ears. @ 100 hz is a good reference point where frequencies start to become directional, most of us try to keep the x-over point somewhere below that 100hz...I like 60-70, personally.
