Another curiosity question on the 10's vs 12 sub.........
I have an opportunity to gain either 2 Rockford T210D4 subs or a single Alpine Type X 12 at a very good deal. This is a temporary sub bass solution, as my budget is already blown on everything else in the build.
The Rockford's are in a ported box, the Alpine is loose. Typically I prefer the sound of a sealed box, but I don't know if the 10's will hit as low without being ported. Regardless of the situation, I am able to build a box to suit.
Here are the questions and scenarios:
The amp that will be powering the chosen selection is a Kicker 2500.1, and the option for wiring the Rockford's would be at 4ohms an the Alpine at 8ohms. I assume that if both these options were wired down to 2ohms on this amp they would die relatively soon after.
I am no looking for an SQL type scenario that leans more on the SQ side than the L side.
With that all said is there a recomendation on these scenarios?
Since its temporary, would a new Alpine Type R 2ohm wired to 4ohm be a more viable option?
