but the 1st real system that made me totally decide on getting subs was 2 PPI Piston subs running off a ZR 240.. not much, but it sure impressed the hell out of me at the time.

Heh, a Fosgate Power 650 and 2 Punch Pro 15"s was the first "real" system that I heard. But before that it was a pair of Punch 150's and 4 Punch 12"s that sparked my interest first. Way back in '89 or '90 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

'Freinds two JL W3's in his fiber-glassed wheel well in his accord. He was only running a Sony 1200 (?) but it still made car alarms go off.

For me it was in the early 90's too. It was a Rockford 15" in a huge ported box in a Black Ford Bronco w/ the Vortec engine. There were some nice comps and stuff in there too, but I was too young to care about SQ. All I know is that sub seemed like it made my heart skip a beat when we cranked it.

I bet I have you all beat in the area of pure crappiness! Koss tape HU w/ 6 disc CD changer, SHAKER 6.5's and 5.25's, a Shaker "500W" amp (more like 75 - dirtyyyyyyyy) and an Ultimate Titanium II 10", with 4 screws. Oh yeah....
