The do's and dont''s of my first wall....it seems like something isn't right....

So I was adjusting my gain with my oscope and as I was unhooking it for the positive wire the wire touched the amp and there was two really loud popping noises and my amp dropped down to 10 volts. So I shut my car off. Then I hooked up my subs and when I did they made a popping noise when the car was off. So then I turned my head unit on and they made a really loud popping noise again. And they sounded fine, so I turned it up a little to maybe 15/35 and they sounded weird. And then they started smoking. So I know I blew atleast one. Most likely all three.....It's just my fuucking luck, I just got my car running perfect. Got my wall pretty much done. And what do you know?.....I fuucking blow my subs. What a wonderful fuucking day it's been so far......I'm so fuccking pissed off right now. Something always has to happen.....
U just need to slow down and take all precautions. Anytime u have a positive wire and it's not hookup up u need to wrap the end in electrical tape so if it happens to touch something it doesn't mess anything up. .

No i cut a really small piece of speaker wire so i could attach the little hook clip from the oscope...when i say little i mean like 3 inches....so i didn't have to tune it with them playing so i dont get the cops called on me by my neighbor's 5 houses down. When i have the subs hooked up to my amp it says 10.3v and when i unhooked the speaker wires for the subs it sparked and then the amp said 13.8v

I guess i should have clarified a little better lol.....it wasnt the power wire.....i had a little three inch piece of wire coming out of the positive terminal for the sub input on the amp....i left the negative plugged in and just hooked the leads from my oscope onto the little piece sticking out and the negative wire from the subs when i was adjusting the gain.....and i went to unhook the lead from the positive side and it slipped out of my hand and touched the amp on the case and there were two sparks and then the voltage went from 13.8 to 10.3
