The do's and dont''s of my first wall....it seems like something isn't right....

Yeah sorry for being a crybaby.....i would get a job but ive been dealing with my car. I had a rod knocking in the original motor when i bought it.....changed the rod bearings, spun the bearing, couple months went by.....finally found an engine....did the swap myself, started looking for a job (window tinting) finally got my car up and running, worked out all the minor shi t..then i blew a hole in one of the piston's, so i found another engine at the junkyard this time, so i did that motor swap just about a month ago...took me three days by myself to do the swap.....got it up and running...and now my transmission just went out yesterday...so now i have to go pull another ***** and pull this engine out again to swap the transmisson. And both my parents work and we dont have a spare vehicle, and since i dont have any friends i cant get rides from people so i have to wait till my parents are done with there daily shi t....so its kinda hard to try and get a job at the moment in my current situation. So its not that i dont want one, it would be hard for me to get to and from a job without my car.....and theres no buses around where i live. So that's what im dealing with at the moment in my life.....so sorry for being a crybaby little bitc h about shi t.....it happens sometimes. Lifes just been very stressful and rough lately. I just got overwhelmed with everything.
Sorry but that's a poor excuse. Employers would not hire you if you were to tell them that during a job interview. They want dependable hard working individuals.

Need to get some calm down/chill pills.
I would do do two 18s and slot port and listen to what these guy have to say especially @CSCStang. I have to 18s in a box with two 10.5 octoports doing 152.6 thanks to him and his design. And I had serious lack of space issuses as I am tall and not giving any seat space - seats gotta go all the way back, its the only rule I got lol !

I dont know if you can see these pics
Agreed. Sell the other 18, use that to go buy some fresh wood, get car fixed, whatever. Get your priorities straight 1st because it's def interfering with your wall build that's now what....4x redone and still looks ******.

Where's these boxes he built? I can only imagine what they look like looking at this wall he's been beating around the bush about.

Good plan, maybe she'll give you hep C or the bug this go round. Seriously, son, don't put your d!ck in crazy.

Not with adequate strength and then he is limiting port options. With two subs that would have been good.

The worst part was the box was not rigid/soid. If this last example is any indication of how you operate I'm going to guess it was not airtight either and the back side of the ports were rather crowded up to the back wall. The first box was a disaster, I find it hard to believe CS told you it would be cool 1 layer.

The last thing he needs is drugs. My .02$ focus on school, do your own thing. Women can't stand it when you're single and happy.... sort yourself out and as soon as a woman senses that they'll be all over you trying to ruin your fun.

The box was 1 layer and seriously, look at what has happened since, do you think it was properly sealed?

There is no reason what he has done now can't be turned into a proper wall though.
doesn't matter the new design's a complete fking flop you were one of the people to say tear that sh*t down. He could have just properly reinforced, braced, sealed it up and made it work, maybe change the tuning or something but nooo had to fking tear it down or a worse soudning wall. Oh well at least its built strong so tearing it down will be even harder. Fk dude. doesn't matter the new design's a complete fking flop you were one of the people to say tear that sh*t down. He could have just properly reinforced, braced, sealed it up and made it work, maybe change the tuning or something but nooo had to fking tear it down for a worse sounding wall. Oh well at least its built strong and looks pretty now... so tearing it down will be even harder. CSCstang never said single layer I saw the design it was dual layer with copious amounts of bracing with no 2x4s included in the design.

Sorry for the rant but its just annoying when your words go ignored and the guy wastes countless time and money doing something and regrets it. When he could have had proper results doing MUCH MUCH less with using much less resources and time and having A lot more results. Brace, seal enclosure, seal the wall, maybe block a port, and viola would have been done. but nope everyone hopped aboard the DEMOLITION train just because it was ugly.

Mesos i've seen do fine in low airspace enclosures they dont need 7 cubes or some bull sh*t like that. Most of the 18s i've worked with get louder and sound better at 5 to 6. I've had to shrink many of my 18" sub boxes to get more output, and shrink port area as well. All this LOTS of airspace and LOTS of port area talk is really going against everything i've experienced personally. Only a few particular subs do well with lots of airspace. Or if the person is going for just pure whale notes and dont care about the meter.

Was I the one who told him to make the horror show he has now? He had 2 (free) sheets of wood in that first box and it the sides were flapping so hard he thought the subs were bottoming out. Throwing that away and doing it right was the right call.

Starting big and shrinking is a sound strategy for wall building, and he is NOT using OEM softparts so none of us have any idea what will work. Apart from the big gaping holes in the box now it's not a bad place from which to start. Really the second attempt could have been solid if he didn't throw a tantrum and carve it up. Holes can be filled, bracing can be added, port and volume can be adjusted, want a round port, easy enough.

Do you honestly think after watching this that you could have coached him along to turn that first attempt into something decent? Your best advice would have been ignored and the rest misconstrued.

agreed 100% the design looked nothing like the blueprint i saw yeah when things arent followed 100%, results vary a lot.
