Trust me, he's shipping enough boxes he probably pays crap for shipping. Just for shits my buddy emailed him to ask how much it would be for like an 8" octoport that was 15" long and he was quoted $250 shipped (my buddy lives less than an hour away from him). He just charges a ton.

Kangaroux, what would you charge for a 9" hex or octoport at 17.5" length buddy? PM would be coolio lol.

Yikes OP, for such an incredibly simple enclosure like yours, eesh, a local builder would have surely built you the same for much less. Hell, even done a single sided kerf for much less I'd probably only have charged $100 for labor, it'd be ~$55-65 for materials, and whatever for its travels.

But hey, all that matters is that you are happy though; and it sounds as such. Have fun!

Yeah Daves boxes are solid and braced to hell. But for the same box I just bought from Starr Mountain, Dave quoted me $250. For 1.5^cu.ft net.

And I can't even sell the damned thing locally for $50. People act like I am asking too much.

So if anyone wants a 3.25 cu ft net enclosure specifically built for an Obsidian 15 for $50, come get it.

Lol Dave charges so much for boxes it's ridiculous. Built a 4 12" obsidian box for a local with a dual kerf port and charged him less than half of what you paid lol. Box has a flush baffle and also made out of poplar

WOW!! 4-12's, recessed baffle,and dual kerfed ports for less than $162.50!??!??...Got some pics?...You either gave it away, or it looks like shit...You're the one who should have charged $325..not Dave

Thanks, it gets pretty loud lol. Only does a 147 on the meter but it flexes the entire dash, his windshield, wipers, even parts of his hood and the grille on the front of his car. It also can pull decent hairtricks lol

I'm local for @pro-rabbit and I've had 2 of his boxes (so far) and they're excellent imo. That box OP got from the Dave the Box Guy for 325 was just stupid. That's ripping someone off for the sake of ripping them off.

Kangaroux your boxes look really decent as well. Your prices look good too... I guess what matters is that the person is happy with the product and happy with the price. Just do some research first. There's a ton of box guys on here and other places as well.

Most of my boxes take between 5-8 hours labor..on top of the necessary tools and equipment needed..wear and tear on router bits, glue, wood, sand paper, bondo/putty, caulk, screws etc........ I won't touch a box for under $150...not worth my time and effort.

PWK is not only a ripoff, but an ******* as well. Most of us here can design a generic box when given sub specs, and a few of the guys here can do a hell of a lot more than that. @Moble Enclosurs ; is my choice, but if he weren't around there are a couple other guys I'd trust to do far better than I can.

Get your plans, buy your MDF or birch, and find a local cabinet maker that would like to put some extra cash in his pocket.
