voltage drop

Hey guys i know a thread was started about this a couple days ago but my question want really answered. Anyway, i checked my voltage today and battery rests at 12.5 with the car off and 14.5 with the car on, i checked to see what kind if voltage drop I'm having and with the car parked it's dropping to low 12s on low notes, 11.8 was the lowest i saw, once again this was with the car parked. I never keep it turned up at stops it's always turned down a bit. I know i still have voltage drop going down the road but do i risk ruining anything? I imagine going down the road its not dropping below 12 volts, prolly not even 12.5 volts. All tests were done at the battery under the hood. Thanks for the help

I know voltage drop isn't good any way you put it. Just haven't got around to taking care of it yet.

voltage drop should be taken at the amplifier.because you can have more drop there because of crap wire,bad grounds,not enough wire.

voltage drops only get worse the longer the bass is on.all you are doing is draining the battery quicker then you can recharge it. so with a fresh charge you might read 11.8 but after 2 songs where is it?

Reading was taken after driving 15 minutes back home.posting at full tilt 90% of the way and check the voltage right after i got home, didn't turn the car.off, let it charge, or anything like that

just cause the alt reads 14.5 dont mean the battery is in a good state of charge.but anyways voltage drop needs to be checked at the amp.low voltage can smoke an amp IF it dont have a good protection circuit.I've low volted amps down into the high 9's with out turning off BUT i also had runs of wire and only did 1 burp off a overcharged battery

always try to keep ur voltage above 13v at a idle even. 0g wire, big 3, better alt, rear battery all should be done...

Gonna be doing the big 3 in a couple weeks, ho alt in march
