actually the rate of firing on both is as fast as you can pull the trigger. So its the same Rate of Fire.

Rate of fire is the frequency at which a specific weapon can fire or launch its projectiles. It is usually measured in rounds per minute (RPM or round/min), or per second (RPS or round/s).

That being said, a semi auto will only fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. So you stand corrected sir.

Rate of Fire only effects a fully auto weapon.

Not necessarily true, but for most purposes it is. A gun can only shoot so fast, so if you can pull the trigger faster than that then this would be a factor, but most people can't so it becomes a non-factor for most.

I know what 'rate of fire' is...thanks for clearing that up.

There are other aspects that affect the effective rate of fire...such as recoil, accuracy, stability, etc, as well as the actual mechanical movements of the gun, not to mention the trigger mechanism.

If there was a semi-auto rocket launcher, it's effective rate of fire wouldn't even be close to 'how fast you can pull the trigger'

There are plenty of AR's out there especially since they are a top selling style weapon. Its just stupid to thik that someone is going to use an AR to kill someone rather then a Handgun. It's been the weapon of choice for gangs, etc. for years!
