Add this to the list of bonehead ideas our president has. I guess its time to start looking at AR's and 30 round mags.

Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons BanThe Ban Expired in 2004 During the Bush Administration.

By JASON RYAN

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25, 2009

The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

Wednesday Attorney General Eric Holder said that the Obama administration will seek to reinstitute the assault weapons ban which expired in 2004 during the Bush administration.

"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

"I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S.

I'm glad the new administration cares more about some shit hole country than America and its constitution. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

It says bare arms, and even still, that's an out dated practice. But, it's reasonable. I can understand... but there's no need for an automatic weapon in your house.
not saying automatic, assault weapons, there's a difference

The amendment that comes right after the first one. You obviously are uneducated about previous assault weapon bans.
Actually quite the opposite. They happened and will happen again. Deal with it. If you need an assault rifle to defend yourself you probably shouldnt have a gun to begin with.

Could possible have something to do with this.

And where does the constitution give you the right to have assault weapons?
where does it state assault weapons are excluded?

some semi-autos = assault weapon in terms of bans

so its not just the machine guns...those were already banned long ago, with exceptions of course

There's no need for you to have subs in your car, maybe they should be banned?

Same idea.

There's no reason NOT to have a automatic weapon in your house. Bearing arms is not out-dated, ignorant statement of this conversation.

It is complete crap that they think that if we have less weapons Mexico wouldn't be getting over run by Drug Related crimes. Me, a 20 year old person in Texas, buying a weapon. Does not effect them. I own the weapon. That's a retarded correlation and a load of crap.

Just another scheme to socialize the world. And Americans are just watching it happen. Let's Nationalize car audio companies too.

Americans need to wake up and stop pissing away their rights...
