I'm not hating here, I just don't understand. I don't see the fun in using a gun that can blow a basketball sized hole in someone when you are just shooting at a piece of paper. Its along the same lines of why I do not really understand the point of subs that can't play anything other than test tones. Again not hating, I just don't understand the fascination.

I can't understand having a car that will do 100+mph when the speed limit is 75, its just excess.

It was exageration. But I guess if there was absolutely no limits on arms (as thats the semantics used) shoulder held rocket launchers would be legal. That could liquify a person. That would be sweet.
And with fast cars you can take them to a track and use them for what they are built for and that is racing.

With anything there has to be reasonable risk analysis. Facts have proven that what the AWB considers "assault weapons" are used in a very very small minority of crimes. I posted the figure before in here, it was only a percent or two I believe.

I think it would make drive-bys more interesting. I mean, they always hit innocent people anyway so you might as well put on a good show for the surrounding crowds at the same time

Entertainment, sure. Audio entertains us, as do gaming, and computers, and all the like. But these are all generally harmless non-violent forms of entertainment. If you can't agree that guns are just brutish, then you might have to take another look at yourself.
