I know what 'rate of fire' is...thanks for clearing that up.
There are other aspects that affect the effective rate of fire...such as recoil, accuracy, stability, etc, as well as the actual mechanical movements of the gun, not to mention the trigger mechanism.

If there was a semi-auto rocket launcher, it's effective rate of fire wouldn't even be close to 'how fast you can pull the trigger'

If we're going to allow assault rifles and fully auto weapons, then where does it stop? Since you feel like you need those weapons for protection/hunting, and that's you're sole reason for wanting to keep them, then what's to stop me for saying that I need a tank, some grenades, a few pounds of C4, a flame-thrower, and an over-the-shoulder rocket launcher for my protection and hunting needs?

Should I be able to have those as well? Would you feel comfortable knowing that the crazy neighbor next to you could have them as well?

Idk about you, but I can effectively shoot an ar15 a hell of a lot quicker than a beefy hand gun...I'm not denying you can pull the trigger just as fast (or at least **** close), but are you gonna hit anything?

Possibly not possibly yes. I have a higher chance with my AR but I don't think that was the point. The point is either way I can pull the trigger just as fast. And also when your in the heat of hte moment, unless you've had proper training, your going to fire that gun like crazy.

And I can reverse this on you just as easily. Just like what's happening in England right now. First they take away hand guns, then fox hunting, then rifles, then all guns are banned.

So whats to stop the government from stripping me from all of my weapons. Now putting a ban on C4, a tank, etc. I mean come on thats a horrible comparison and you know it. As those things can be defined as a lot more dangerous....and I don't plan on hunting with a tank any time soon. It would be fun but I like my deer to be in one piece......
