I have an old computer that was given to me and since my laptop fried i have been using it. I had linux on it and it worked well but I have to use photoshop and I don't like using the Gimp on it.

So I would have to run wine whenever I wanted to use photoshop which is a pain in the ***, plus I have other programs in windows I like.

I have XP Performance Edition which only has like 15 processes running at boot so it does pretty well on the computer, but I need an Anti-virus/Firewall but I want something that isn't going to hog the ram.

I am using Avast right now. Want something free or something that can be obtained without a serial being replaced every week or so...

No need for any spyware/bullshtt programs.
Thanks for the info on Rick 752. I never heard of it. Those **** ads slow this thing down so maybe it will help. I am installing it now

Get the flash player blocker extension for Firefox too. It keeps firefox from chewing up ram by letting you choose what Flash objects you want to be loaded.

Zone Alarm is a pretty decent firewall too.

Someone else mentioned AVG Free Edition, thats some good shit too. Daily auto-updates too.
