TC-9 12" Questions

May be getting this soon, but I am confused as to what ohms it requires. At the bottom of the site it lists a bunch of random ohm independences that normal amps dont commonly run at. I guess some do, but it does state that they are dual 4ohms.

Also was wonder what to power this thing with. It states between 500-2000 watts... and to me that seems a bit vague. I dont plan on putting anywhere near 2000 to it. I probably like to keep it at around 1000 or lower if possible, but I would still want it to perform to its potential. So I am basically asking for peoples opinions that have them or used them.

Also in that regard... I could probably use some help choosing an amp for this sub. I'm probably not going to be buying the amp soon by any means, as I need to get rid of my other equipment first, but I'll be on the lookout for some deals.

Another thing... looking to put this one 12" in a ported box, and was also wondering what people have found to be the best. Hoping at least someone here has played around with this sub to know its sweet spot. Either that or I'll just go somewhere inbetween the large and small box they reccomend.

Just wondering if anyone had any useful information to provide.

I have a TC-9-based sub, uses the same motor (although I've heard that the version TC currently sells uses a slightly smaller diameter coil).

I'd recommend a kW and under...1200W at the most.

If you could fit a 15" check out the sub in my signature. Would be amazing off around 1200-1300 watts. As for ported box size I'm not really sure since I'm running sealed. I would probably say around 4.5 cubes tuned to 45hz but I would ask around a bit more first. Let me know if you are interested or not.

Thanks for your time,

Darren

P.S. I love my 15"

I got it installed and did some tweeking, that thing rocked my world today! It has more bass than i will ever need. I am sure it isn't configured 100% to my liking yet, I have done a few things but I know I am not finished. Oh, the type 2 box is tuned to 34 hz. I believe it is 1.25 cu ft. I still need to seal it up and see how it is, but i will probably stay ported.
