Tax questions...need help..

Ok So last year I was 17 and earned $7000 total income. Paid $500 in federal taxes. Now after around $5300 they start taxing you, so im paying taxes on around $1700, correct? Or do I get around that for still being in Highschool? If not, how much will I owe on that $1700? Just tryin to find out how much of my fed. tax ill get back. Thanks for the help if I get any!

it depends on what you claimed on your w2 w4 thingie ( i forget the number, the paper you filled out when you were hired ) if you claimed yourself on the paper its more likley that you will have to pay. if you claimed 0 on it its more likley that you will actually be getting money back ( if you job doesnt have you claim tips, then you will still probably be oweing money )

I claimed just myself. No deductions, refunds, and all that BS. Just seein how much of my fed taxes I get back since Im still in school.
