Taramps MD or Bass

Whats the difference between these amps? The MD is rated for the same power at lower voltage compared to the bass line. And the MD is cheaper.

What makes the bass line more expensive? Is it better for lower impedances, running below rated impedance? I see a lot of recommendations for taramps around here, anyone know? Is one more efficient than the other.

I recommend MD unless wiring below 1 ohm. Then I would go Bass line. MD is full range. Bass line is not. Bass line is beefier to handle low ohm load.

No. Brazilians just like using huge amps for mids and as such they create a lot of their amps to be full range. The Bass line is the only one they created just for subs afaik and it's mostly for the US and EU market

So, why would you want full range @ 1 ohm if it's a sub? I've obviously never run a Bass line amp. I took everybody's MD advice and I'm happy with my decision, but what is the upside of full range @ 1 ohm on a person's subs.

I did son. I was wondering what the upside of the MD line at 1 ohm is over the Bass line. Why do you want full range @ 1 ohm, but not @ .5 ohm?

I thought the MD line was better than the Bass line. I was wrong, my bad.

Better is always dependent on application. Like I said unless you are wiring under 1 ohm I would run an MD. There is an MD12k .5 ohm version though.

The DSP line will always be my favorite from Taramps but unfortunately they did away with the 3000, 2500, and only producing the 1600 now.
