Maybe the amp is defective then? 12.8V shouldn't cause an amp to protect.

Worked fine in my truck. But I ran it at .7. But it should be under warranty anyway

Where was your voltage drop though? Your electrical is a bit beefier

I never went under 13.8 in mine. But yes I have a 275 amp alt and 8 batts 900 ah worth

That still doesnt account for why its goin into protect when the lowest i got voltage wise was 12.8

If it's defective it could cause the amp to protect at a higher voltage than it normally would.
