hey everyone, im going to be going to a music festival this weekend and i need the trunk room for tents, etc. what would be the best way to take out my box/amp without having to worry about the wires, just take the ends or something and unhook it from the battery?

I had to do this before, and i just pulled the fuse on the power wire, so as not to have any problems there. Then, for the remote lead, just put a wire nut, or in a pinch, electrical tape, around it. The RCA's should be fine just hangin' around in the trunk. Just turn off your sub out (if you have one). That kills any signal going thru the RCA's.

thanks for all the replies guys! and yeah, i planned on taking out the sub/box and considering the amp..its like, screwed into the floor mat right behind the passanger back seat, so im sure that wont even be an issue for space

cut it all off>JACK MODE .get thediagonal cutters and cut all the wire it will be very fast less then a minute
hahaha thanks for the tip, but i doubt ill be doing any cutting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

sh!t!! when i was going to take the speaker connections out one of the screws broke off while it was still tightened to the speaker wire...how the hell am i supposed to get that out now?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

my bad haha, the connector on the amp for the sub wire, the screw broke in half and its still screwed down on the wire itself

you may have to buy an extractor screw set to remove the screw.

if you don't want to then just cut the wire maybe 1ft long past the terminal. when you need to wire the speaker back onto the amp just wire it up at the splice and connect it. would be used for temp untill you get that screw replaced.
