System weight in small cars?

on a serious note...the yaris has good springs...150 should be ok...
really? well i guess that is good to hear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You may want to reinforce the floor of your trunk with a 1/4" or 1/2" thick oak board over the wheel well if your box doesn't fully clear it.
good idea, i was thinking about doing something like this. I need to figure out a good way to bolt the box down as well.

You could use self tapping screws to secure the support board to the floor of your trunk and then use brackets to secure the box to the support board. But plan on carrying tools in your car to remove it. Would really **** if you couldn't get to your spare when you get a flat.

well there is a big difference between putting a 150 lb person in the back seat rather then the trunk. it drops a pretty significant amount (around 3"?) with somebody sitting on the bumper. it drops about 1" with a 150 lb person in the back seat.
oh well, the system is going in regardless. if the shocks wear out quickly or the ride quality suffers significantly looks like i'll just be buying some better shocks.
wtf... i said a person in the trunk... where your system is going. i never said anything about a person sitting in the back seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif obviously you've never had someone in the trunk of your car so you dont understand what i'm trying to say.

should be no problem. There is a big difference between someone sitting on the bumper and a system in the trunk or a person sitting in the back seat.

When a person sits in the car, the weight is suspended between the front and back suspension points. When you put a system in the trunk, the weight will most likely be placed right over or ahead of the rear suspension points. When someone sits on the bumper, the weight is only on the rear suspension, but the leverage created by the distance from the susoension points increases the effect of the weight by a great deal.

personally i'd take the girl in the trunk over the system. blowjobs while driving ftw? haha
1. you shouldn't be driving from the trunk of your car

2. they're too distracting imo, it gets way too hard to pay attention, maybe for a long straight boring drive on a highway or something, never tried that though
