Being that this only the second system I have ever built I would like everyone's input on my setup so far...

Sub- atomic apxx 18" w/ 856 motor (4" 8 layer vc) upgraded suspension and quad tensil leads, D1

box- 8.56 cu ft gross vol., 1 4.3 inch long 6 inch aero port

electrical- dc power 270 amp alt, twin kinetik hc2000's in the back, xs6500 under the hood, big three, double runs of 0 guage power and ground

amp- atomic 5000.1 D

for music sub will be wired to 2 ohms and will receive 2000 watts rms, for comps sub will be wired to .5 ohms and will receive 5000 watts rms

sound decent??? any input is much appreciated.

sounds like you're off to a really good start... what you going to run for your mid/high stage?

I just bought some kicker ks400 for my front speakers, and I was looking at kicker ks680s for my rears... havent given it much thought though.

i would be giving it some thought... anyone can get loud on just the sub stage, but the best sounding systems you'll ever hear have proper staging accomplished with a perfect slope (mix of all the stages)... you will definately not regret investing in your front stage

I run Herts mid-woofers on DD t2 tweeters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I love the way the highs sound, very smooth but crisp. And with 25ft of 60mil in my single cab doors my hertz put out some great mid-bass off a DB drive 90.4

Also remember after rise you will probably have 1200w wired to 2 ohm, and 3500 wired to 0.5.
