Hi my aftermarket head unit shuts off and restarts when I turn volume up loud , nothing crazy just a fosgate 500w amp running alpine 4 door speakers and tweets. If I turn the gain almost all the way down it doesn't really happen. Any help is appreciated

Also it's not the ground ,if I turn the gain down it doesn't happen, only happens when turn gain up some

If the radio is turning off, it could be one of 2 things- 1. Lack of power supply. But since you are not connected directly to the speakers: the radio should not have a high current draw.
2. Speaker wires shorting. Again, since you are not wired direct to the speakers, this should not be the case. Were the speaker output wires clipped and taped off on the radio. I assume you are using RCAs?
