System shutdown pop through sub.

I just installed my sub and amp into my 98 GC. Whenever the system turns off, I get a loud pop through the sub. mids and highs are still stock running off the HU until I get time to install my CDT's and their amp.

I have kicker 1/0 running to a distribution block, then 4 gauge to my amp. I have the ground 4awg running to a ground distribution block, and 1/0 grounded to the chassis by way of a sheet metal self taping screw. I removed all paint in the area with a drill wire brush attachment.

Ideas?

The word PIONEER in your sig makes me think its the deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif another casualty of the bad ground on the RCA's perhaps?

I assume you're using the remote wire from the HU to turn the amp on and off?
Yes. I have already fixed the rca issue with some wire. I never had this problem when the system was installed in my other jeep. Well, I did for a day or two and it fixed itself.

Wire your head unit same way you wired your amplifier. Directly to battery or at least ground it directly to chassis. 10-12 awg is fine. Your problem is likley a result of your head unit having to share it's ground.

Where on chassis did you ground amp? When you say, "I used a sheet metal tapping screw" I wonder if you grounded to secondary chassis like the rear deck or trunk lid.
