do a search for programs that will restore files that have been lost like in your case I know for sure if you can go to torrentspy and download KILLDISK PROFESSIONAL look for the newest version it has an option that restores lost files, you8 have to use "microtorrent" to download it. also look for other programs that will restore, hope this helps.

go to your recycle bin. right click and select restore. it'll put them back into the previous folder they were in before deleted.
I'm guessing that they were permanantly deleted because I'm sure they were too big to fit in the recycle bin. At least that what happens when I deleted movies off mine.

compressed movies (divx, xvid, .avi, etc.) will fit. dvd format movies, you are right. they are like 4 gigs per flick. i doubt he had 80 dvd format movies stored on his computer.
