System remote fuse rating???

Hello one and all! I'm in the process of installing a sub and amp,question is,the remote wire for the amp to head unit remote out,what size fuse should I use??? why are you doing this you ask??? well... I want to protect the HU from any amp voltages feeding back to it,just in case, I put a 500ma fuse there for now. so that's 1/2 amp. I'm a old newbie at this so be kind!lol!
