my ****** has been slippin real bad. the place i bought the car from said. go get it checked out. tell me whats wrong and ill fix it. first place i went to. guy took it for a test drive. comes back. pops my trunk and he says. well there is your problem. i've seen this too many times. I had systems in my cars that will way out do this one. and my ****** went out too.
First he says u see this wire right here. taking too much voltage from the car. i was like. i dont even use my system. how the hell is it taking anything out of it. he was like u see this voltage meter. pulling power.
i have a cap in the wheel well i used for a voltage meter till i got my new one. he saw it and said. that capacitor right there will help you a sh!t load. hook that up and no problems. i was like man. just just a massive paperweight. with a voltage meter. that isnt going to help me any. then he started on how my 1/0 ground was pulling away from the engine block grounds. so i said i'm not here to argue. then the younger guy asked me how much i was selling my amp for when the old guy(like late 50's) walked away. i told him how much. and left.
I went to auto zone to get the batt and alternator checked out. everything was fine even with a full load. batt was at 12.83 putting out 880 cca. so they are not the problem.
Went to the next shop. Guy test drove it. Thru the test drive. I told him i knew it wasnt the system causing the problems. and he told me that my other saturns h/o alternator wouldnt help any. He started to go on about a system he had in his other truck. He sounded like he knew a lil bit from the "ol days". until he went on about how he had a 380 amp capacitor. He told me a capacitor will provide all the power i needed. so i was like ummm... .ok good advice man. I drove off. Is TN full of rednecks or something? idk y but. i'd be better off trying to fix it myself lol.
So is my system causing my problems? Or are they just stupid?
I have a powerbass asa600.2 pushing 2 pr 10's. and i have never seen it rise above 30 amps being used. and never been below 13v. with any system i have.
