If you can just take a look at a Hybrid and figure out how it's wired...you are a genius.

Anyway, read that paragraph I posted, there is a secondary way of generating power, not by the engine turning, but by the axles (wheels) turning.

Hybrids like the Prius dont use an alternator. The flywheel on the engine is replaced by a generator. In the Prius the generator feeds an inverter which has three outputs two high voltage lines for powering the electric motor, and a 12V DC line for the aux. system.
