I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and need to upgrade the stereo system.
I don't want to amp the front speakers. It's easy to break into jeeps with a top down or a soft top on and I don't want an amp to get destroyed by water when it rains or stolen. Besides, it's just a jeep.
So i'll be running 2 5.25" speakers in the dash(with bracket) and 2 5.25" speakers in the sound bar. Do all 4 speakers need to be the same? The sound bar currently has Pioneer Premier TS-620 speakers.
These need to sound good just off the headunit. I was told to look for speakers with less than 35 RMS as I wouldn't be amping them. I was also told that 2 ways would work better than 3 ways to fill out the sound of my jeep? What's the best speakers to run just off the headunit? I'd like them to be under $50/pair. And that's online prices. You can always get them much cheaper online than best buy or circuit city. I'll spend a tad bit more if the price will mean a noticable difference in sound quality. I am looking at these: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qlm1g8kYQG8/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=130TSG1341&search=TSG1341R&tp=97
I am also looking at kenwood and pioneer head units. They need to work with sirius sat and cost less than $200
And finally I will get an "all in one" sub box that already has an amp and subs built in. I will put it in the back in the insta trunk area. And it needs to be able to be removed easily for when I need that space. I had an infinity basslink years ago that was ok, but I don't think is large enough to fill a Wrangler unlimited. Should I just grab an enclosure and seperate subs and an amp and put it together myself or would one of these all in one units work better?
I don't expect it to sound good with no top on. But I do have a hard top that will stay on throughout fall and winter. I don't listen to rap or R&B so it needs to sound good with Rock.
So basically i'm looking for suggestions, options and reviews for products to use in this situation.
