System for a Ranger?

hey guys, i am new to the forum, and i will be getting my Drivers license in about a month and a half, but i will be buying a Ford Ranger Extended Cab in the next couple of weeks, it will be an Extended Cab.

But the Main thing i want to do with it before i get my license is put a system in it, for about 500$ . I want it to wail pretty good. I dotn know much about car audio right now but i would like to learn more.

If u have any systems for sale or can give me tips on what to buy new, sned me a msg.

$500 will buy you a nice receiver and some speakers maybe.

Another $500 will get you a sub amp and wiring

look in that thread as he also has a set of 5x7 which drop in to your truck and the kenwood is decent and will alooow u to go up to a 4ch and a sub also later hope this helps

I would suggest looking into used gear through your friends and the various forums! I just put a complete system together for my fiancee for $800 that was comprised of new and used equipment. Granted, it isn't the loudest thing in the world, but, it is a MAJOR improvement over stock.

You'll have to get an install kit for the cd player and build an enclosure for the subs, but that should be relatively inexpensive...

I dont mind doing it over time. Like putting in a deck first, and speakers then getting an amp and subs. So my budget will most likely be over 500$

i have 2 12" Type Rs in my extended cab..if i were you i wouldjust invest the 500 in a HU, 6.5 components for the front, 6x8s for the back and a nice 4 channel.
