sub facing the front of my car with about 6 - 8 inches between the box and the back seat and i keep the little mid arm rest down on the back seatDid you sand the ground to bate metal? Where is the bolt? Make sure you have a solid ground and good power. If you do you can set the gain with a test tone. Which way is your sub facing?
i would have to turn it aournd another day. dont have time to do all that now. and i had the cap in my taurus and it stopped my lights from flickering and putting a strain on my alternator so i just transfered it over to my TL with everything else. some say its good some say its bad. i would rather have it tho. but i will turn the box around and see if that makes a diff thankswhats the max your HU goes? set gains to 3/4s max volume. so multiply .75x(max volume)
and set gain with a test tone. turn your sub around and face the trunk of car about 6" away. i would get rid of the cap if i was you.
it restricts flow of current to your amp. You are getting less dims but a lot less power at the amp At heavy voltage drops, you are starving the amp of voltage with the cap. Box direction has A LOT to do with how you get loud.IT NEEDS TO LOAD OFF A WALL. Bass needs to bounce and reflect off something solid to even get bass. Go to your EQ settings and turn everything down besides the bass frequencies. then raise the head unit volume because thats what is needed to get a good clean signal to your amps. HEAD UNIT VOLUME. NOT BASS BOOST or cranked gains.i would have to turn it aournd another day. dont have time to do all that now. and i had the cap in my taurus and it stopped my lights from flickering and putting a strain on my alternator so i just transfered it over to my TL with everything else. some say its good some say its bad. i would rather have it tho. but i will turn the box around and see if that makes a diff thanks
doesnt matter its all part of a proper install which a lot of things you already have done wrong, improper ground will cause future problems. along with current voltage issues.i cant remember if sanded it down or not but if it was an issue with the ground wouldnt it be cutting in and out?
