System Critiques wanted...

After many hours on the internet the last few days and an honest self evaluation of what I'm looking to accomplish with this system I think I've come up with a pretty respectable setup, but I'm definitely up to any advice, suggestions, criticisms at this point so here it goes...

Sound Deadening: Second Skin Damplifier (120 Sq.Ft.)

Battery: Deka Intimidator

Power/Ground Wires: Stinger Custom Pro

Speaker Wires: Stinger HPM

Interconnects: Stinger Helix

Head Unit: Eclipse CD7100

Amplifier: Eclipse XA5000

Front Stage: CDT HD-62/M6i

Subwoofer: CDT HD-SQ10 (sealed rear-firing enclosure)

This would be going in an '06 Silverado Standard Cab. My main concern is that the amplifier I chose may be a bit underpowered for the speakers and sub, but I really like the idea of a single amp system for cost, space, and ease of install and the eclipse amp is the most powerful one I could find that will fit in the space I want it to go.

For a daily driver setup that will never see any sort of competition will the eclipse head unit have enough equalization capabilities or would a pair of 30-band EQ's be a worthwhile investment?

Let me know what you guys think.

Not a bad start.
I'm not a huge fan of those CDT components but they'll do for now.

and those comps are power hungry, you could try it out and see if it works out. If not sell and by a different one

Thats funny. I've seen nothing but good reviews so far for the CDT HD series. Another setup I was considering that would be a bit cheaper and closer to the right power levels was the Image Dynamics CXS64 braxials and either a IDQ12 or IDMax 12.

The point of this thread was to get suggestions on anything that may be better than what I'm currently looking at so if you don't think my selections are that good, feel free to suggest something else. Reasons behind the comments/suggestions would be great also.

As far as the front speakers go I'd like to stick with a braxial setup for a few different reasons. The only braxial style components I've found (and liked) so far that fit my price range are the ID CXS64, CDT HD-62, and Mb Quart PCE 216. If you guys know of anything else that may work up there let me know.

For the sub, I am pretty much up in the air on that. I'd like something that has dual 4 ohm voice coils to extract the most power possible out of the eclipse amp, sized either 10" or 12", and will work well in a sealed enclosure.

I guess I should have mentioned the output for the eclipse amp for anyone who doesn't know.

It is rated at 150x2@4ohms for the front stage and 450x1@2ohms for the subwoofer.

i'd go with knukonceptz for a better price and probably a kinetik battery. maybe a different sub tho.
I work for Deka batteries so at 50% off I think I'll stick with the intimidator. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

if you want more power in a 5 channel amp .. look into the Directed Audio D2205. Just get a dual 2 ohm sub and wire it to a 1ohm load on the sub channel. Since you are bridging it .. it would be 250x2 bridged + 600x1@1ohm sub.

Of course you could go for the Memphis Belle 16-MCH1300 if you wanted to spend that kind of money and push 230x2 bridged + 1100x1 @1ohm sub

Memphis Msync6's can be coaxially mounted and IMHO, are a better choice than the CDT's.

How much are you willing to spend on the sub? Something like an Oz Audio Matrix Elite or Fi SSD would be at home in a sealed enclosure...but I'd be less worried about changing the subwoofer, it's less important than the front speakers.

Everything else looks good to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think I'm pretty well set on everything, but the speakers and sub. The memphis speakers are only rated at 1/3 of the power I would be giving them. Could they really handle that?

I read nothing, but good reviews on the CDT speakers and now all the sudden everyones telling me to look elsewhere! As of right this second I would say the Image Dynamics CXS64 speakers are topping my list. I have absolutely no idea what to go with yet for the sub so I'll work on narrowing it down a bit and maybe thow a poll up here.
