With a lot of help and suggestions from here as well as the local shops I finally have everything picked out and I am dropping the explorer off today to get everything installed.
Boston Acoustics SL 80's in front and rear doors
12" Boston Acoustics sub in factory sealed enclosure
Alpine 4x90w 4 channel amp
Alpine 300W mono sub amp
Kenwood BT742U headunit with Sirius
On a side note....I can't express how unprofessional most of the audio shops were when it came to follow up, checking on pricing, etc. One shop, which is literally 2 miles away who is a Boston Acoustics and Kenwood dealer was the worst. They never called me back, I often would drop in to follow up and the guy would say "I haven't even checked into that yet...I'll call you back later" and never called back. I gave that particular shop 4x to get my business and they never so much as called me after I stopped in their shop to get info. Guess my $1800 was no good to them. Shame on them as I really wanted to support my local shops. Now I'm driving 40 minutes to a shop which was awesome and deserves my business.
