System affecting engine starting?

I got my new system installed a few weeks ago and noticed that my car has been struggling to start. It turns over a few extra times. Is this a result of the extra power (running 1400watts)? or something else? And how would one be able to have better starting? Big 3 done with 4 ga and 0 ga.

what size alt? what amp?

Alt is stock, there are multiple amps, total watts is 1400

Need to find out how many amps your alternator is. That is probably your problem.

I found this out the hard way. I was running 1500 watts off a 65 amp alty, lol.

Going to buy a 220 amp soon, so I won't have to worry about that mess.

I think its around 80-90. So a large system can affect the starting, and the solution is to upgrade the alt?

It's not so much affecting your 'starting', it's more like it's affecting your battery. Your battery is probably slowly dieing from the power drain.
