Im trading a buddy of mine one of my amps for his sundown x, he was supposed to sell it at first but accidentally tore through the surround with a drill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and we'll i jumped in and offered my amp.

Has anyone had this happen to an X before?

Would Amazing Goop glue, get the job done? or is it worth getting the recone?

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif have a good day.

Not promising that this will work, but pull the sub out and try to reposition the tear and good as you can. While its repostitoned take silicon and go under the tear and apply some under the tear but make sure its covers alittle more area then the tear it self. Then on the outside, try and do the same thing but smooth it out the best way you can(if you want to smooth, you dont have to) let it dry for a bit and then test it and see how it works. But with it being that bad idk if it will hold.

I did my buddies W7 like how bgowdy said to do it and it's been holding up fine for 2 months now.

His was almost as bad as that one,but there are no guarantees that it will hold up.I hit it with a blowdryer and let it sit overnight before hammering on it.

yea we did this before but didnt blow dry it. we just let it sit for it bit and let it dry on its own

^lol i wasnt sure, where to post it at...

But thanks for the help yall, so far the silicone is holding up on low wattage, only about 600 rms from a memphis 1000.1 at 2 ohms, should be getting a kicker kx1600.1 this weekend
