Sundown audio 10" in sealed box, vs ported

Go here: Sundown SA Series scroll to bottom and look at their ported specs for the 10". They even have a design you can download. Plus you went from a 12" to a 10", so I mean, less surface area.

The thing is flexing over an inch as well, this on the first day of playing. Versus the old one, which maybe moved a quarter of an inch if i was lucky. So I still don't understand how it can be quieter.

*Will breaking it in make it louder?

If I'm correct Sundowns come broken in or just don't need to be broken in.

So this is telling me .5 cubic feet sealed...

We had originally intended to port the box and made it 1 cubic foot, but then realized we didn't know what we were doing lol. So sealed is recommended .5 and i have 1, this may be the problem?

Download their design if you want, It's probably a ported design. But yeah, trust their specs.

Yeah that could be it. A good sub is nothing with a **** enclosure. Gotta match stuff up.

Well ****, now I have to have a different box made.

That extra half a cubic foot would give it too much air space and take away the punch, correct?

The Sundown box design is a ported design. Since your box is too big just restart and build a ported one.

Match the spec the sub needs or else it's still gonna be weak.

theres a possibility but will the length or width fit in there?

a 3" port would need to be 16" long thats IF your box really is 1 cubic ft before sub

Its probably The bottom is 10x13, minus 3/4inch for the wood all around, and it is 13 or 14 inches high
